You may use the corporate website www.ld-didactic.com and the webshop www.leybold-shop.com or www.leybold-shop.de (all together and each, “Webpage”) of LD Didactic GmbH based in Leyboldstrasse 1, 50354 Hürth, (“LD“, “we“ or “us”), in different ways. For example, you many visit the Webpage to get general information on the products sold by us. In addition, you may register for our webshop (“Webshop”) and purchase the products offered therein, participate interactively in our forum (“Forum”), or contact us. You may also register for our Webshop to receive periodic information on LD and our products as well as innovations.

As you know, you leave your mark, whenever you are surfing in the Internet. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) informs you about how we process your personal data received via the Webpage and gives answers to the following questions:

I. Who is data controller?

Data controller is LD Didactic GmbH, Leyboldstrasse 1, 50354 Hürth, Germany (LD). This means that LD performs and monitors the data processing on the Webpage on its own responsibility. Additionally LD is the point of contact for all your inquiries regarding data processing on the Webpage.

II. Which Personal Data is collected by us and how do we use such data?

Personenbezogene Daten” means all information that relates to your personal or material circumstances and enables us to identify you. Whether and, if so, which of your Personal Data is collected, processed and used by us (collectively referred to as “process“ or „processing”) depends on how you use our Webpage:

3. Orders and Downloads

The “Order and Download” function allows you to order current product catalogs or leaflets as print version or ask questions on certain product catalogs or leaflets. For this purpose, we process the following Personal Data: Last name, first name, title, position, school/institute/company, type of educational establishment, department, area of specialization, customer number, address (private and/or business), phone number, fax number, e-mail address.

4. Webshop

We collect your Personal Data that you enter when registering for our Webshop or placing an order or that you subsequently update or amend in your user account. This information includes: customer number, password, form of address, title, names, position, name of your school/institute/company, IP address, area of specialization, line of business, business address, e-mail address, phone number, fax number, information on the specific order and its processing, order history.

We process these Personal Data exclusively in order to handle your orders and to answer requests. In addition, we process these Personal Data in an aggregate form to improve our product range, the Webshop and the Webpage.

5. Newsletter

If you register for our e-mail newsletter or if you have placed an order in our Webshop, we will process your e-mail address provided to us as well as details on the sending of the newsletters to you. We process these Personal Data in order to send to you the newsletter containing updates on the products from LD and on our activities – in each case in accordance with the applicable competition law. You may object to the receipt of our e-mail newsletter at any time with effect for the future.

6. Forum

You may read posts in the Forum on the Webpage without any Personal Data from you being collected by us. If you want to actively participate in the Forum and to post contributions, you need to register for the Forum. You will have to choose whether to use a pseudonym or your real name in the Forum. As part of the Forum, we process your e-mail address, your use name, your login data, your IP address and the contents communicated in your contributions, in order to enable you to use the Forum and us to operate the Forum. 7. Customer-Relationship-Management – Merging your Personal Data

Subject to your consent which you will be asked to separately declare e.g. in connection with your order of our products or with your order of the Newsletter or of catalogs, we merge the Personal Data collected as described in this Clause II to use this Personal Data jointly for the purposes described in this Clause II. This merger will for example enable us to find out whether you have already ordered a catalog from us and afterwards have placed an order. In this way we will learn more about you as our customer and thus can also better serve your interests. For example, we will be able to identify you as the purchaser of a specific product, enabling us to inform you on improvements or additional applications.

III. Who is receiving or has access to your Personal Data?

1. Shipping service providers

We transfer your Personal Data only to shipping providers who assist us in shipping your orders. These shipping providers are third parties in terms of the applicable data protection laws. For the purpose of shipping, we transfer your business address, your name, the name of the school/institute/company and your phone number for any queries. The data is transferred and processed exclusively for dispatch.

2. Use of Service Providers

We use service providers who assist us in operating the Webpage and the Webshop. For example, we make use of hosting services, CRM service providers or customer management tools of our service providers. In terms of data protection laws, these service providers are commissioned data processors who process the Personal Data provided by us only on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. Our service providers are in addition under the contractual obligation to take adequate technical and organizational measures ensuring the protection of your Personal Data. We check at regular intervals whether these measures have actually been implemented. Where our service providers are not based within the European Union / European Economic Area, we have guaranteed an adequate level of data protection to be met by the service providers (by means of the Safe Harbor certification or standard contractual clauses).

IV. Which types of cookies are used by us?

V. Will anonymous access data be collected?
