With the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi you can meaure directly – without needing a PC. Apart from using the device as a stand-alone instrument, measurements can also be carried out using a PC via the built-in USB port. The school licence for the CASS Lab 2 measurement software allows it to be used on the class's own computers. Of course, it can also be used for demonstration experiments. The integrated WiFi option also makes it possible to make measurements using tablets, smartphones, laptops or computers. For this LEYBOLD offers the CASSY app or CASSY.app Web, which is free to both teachers and students.

The integrated WiFi of the Mobile-CASSY 2 simplifies your way into digital education in natural sciences. The Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi can be connected to the school's WiFi network. It can also set up its own WiFi network - a so-called access point. If you do not have a WiFi infrastructure at your school, you can still take the path to digital education. This flexibility allows you to tailor your teaching to the conditions at your school.

Intuitive, with large display for measured values

 

The Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi is perfectly designed for operation by students. Thanks to the support base, it can be integrated into the student experiment in a clearly visible position. The measuring device can be operated intuitively by the students. The well-thought-out and modern design relies on simple operation with a touch wheel. It is the central element and familiar to students.

Using the touch wheel, they can quickly switch to the appropriate screen view and navigate through the menus. With its 9 cm graphic display, the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi is also very suitable for working in student groups. The graphic display is not covered by the touch wheel, so that all students can follow exactly what is happening on the screen at all times.

The Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi is sturdy and robust in handling.

The measurement of voltage, current, power, energy and temperature can be made directly without additional accessories.

The measuring device is equipped with 4-mm safety sockets and a type-K socket for the NiCr-Ni temperature sensor supplied.

The Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi is compatible with all CASSY S and M sensors. With over 60 available sensors, a wide range of applications is possible - for example, measurement of conductivity, pH value, pressure, force or even the frequency of the human heartbeat.

When the student connects the sensor to the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi, the student measuring device immediately detects the sensor and automatically selects sensible measuring ranges. No further keystroke is necessary for this. Students can quickly start experimenting.

Digital experiment instructions - interactive with Lab Docs

 

The Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi has become an integral part of the digital experiment instructions Lab Docs. They are "alive" together with the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi.

Live measured values from Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi

If the end devices, for example a student tablet, are connected to the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi, then the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi initially takes over all the settings for the experiment.

Up to 4 mobile devices (tablets, smartphones, laptops) can access a Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi at the same time while experimenting. While measuring, the live measuring values from the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi are automatically transferred to the measuring instruments, tables and diagrams in the Lab Doc. This is done in up to four Lab Docs of the students in a student group.

In our example, the currently measured distance s = 0.285 m can be seen both in the display of the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi and in the Lab Doc.

Fast recordings of measured values

 

Due to the automatic sensor detection and automatic selection of the measuring instruments, the students can quickly start measuring.

t is possible to load presets from predefined LEYBOLD experiment examples or to configure the settings yourself. Measurement parameters such as measurement time, measurement interval and the trigger as well as the pre-trigger (advance) can be set.

In addition, settings such as measuring range and calibration can be made for the respective measured variables. Now the students only have to start and stop the measurement. The measured values are immediately transferred to the device or to the digital experiment instruction Lab Doc and can be followed graphically.

The Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi impresses with the acquisition of up to 500,000 measured values per second.

Graphic capability for high-contrast diagrams

 

The high-contrast display and graphic capability of the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi enable first-class handling. For this, the colour display is additionally backlit and the students immediately get a precise insight into the measured values through the dynamic display of the graphs.

Using simple and self-explanatory icons, the measuring channels are displayed and can be selected. Depending on the sensor, the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi automatically displays the possible measured quantities.

Further icons can be used to select the settings menu and other displays via the touch wheel. These include language and brightness. In addition to the diagram, there is a table, a large measurement value display for each measured variable and an overview of all measured variables. The axis assignment of the measured value graphic is freely selectable. In addition, evaluations can be made very easily, for example, straight line and parabola adjustments. In the case of 'free fall', for example, the evaluation in the diagram is possible in order to determine the acceleration of gravity.

Storage of measured values for later evaluation

 

The measured values and screenshots can be stored on the built-in micro SD card. The values stored on the SD card can be easily transferred to a computer by connecting the Mobile-CASSY 2 WiFi.

By recording and storing them with a USB stick, they can also be copied for further evaluation on a PC. Of course, the measured values can be reloaded and further used throughout the entire CASSY system. This includes the measurement software CASSY Lab 2 on a PC or laptop as well as the CASSY App and the CASSY.App Web.

This storage tray can hold up to 8 Mobile-CASSYs, so they are always safely stored. The storage trays can be stacked systematically with and without lids and are ideally suited for the Science Lab student experiment system. The transport of the Mobile-CASSYs is ensured by the device-shaped foam in the tray and enables a quick completeness check.
